Sewer Snake Build Report
TPC Home
With not much more than a drill press, chop saw, jigsaw and a Dremel tool, Matt made the frame out of 6-inch channel and 1/4-inch 6061 aluminum. The channel forms the exterior frame. 1/4" alumimun plate separates the drive train from the main interior of the robot. With this design feature we hope to keep flying chains away from the more expensive components.
Rick Tommila of Welding Works Fabrication did a great job welding up Sewer Snake's frame! Rick can weld everything from aluminum to titanium and magnesium.
When Matt brought the frame back from the welder, we performed a final component check to verify fit and functionality.

The drum is 12-inch long of 5-inch diameter schedule 10 stainless steel pipe. We'll have two 1-inch stainless steel bars welded to the pipe.
