Wipe Out Build Report
Late one night in the shop we were talking about creating an art bot for Ed Robinson's events in Las Vegas. Did I mention it was VERY late? The creation -- a lightweight robot that looks like a giant roll of toilet paper.
Unlike the photo, Wipe Out will be our first bot with protected wheels. The weapon will be a lifting/flipping device. Since Wendy will be Wipe Out's driver, Matt built a wood drive platform for Wendy to practice with.
Since the wheels are protected, we are using Colson's, and we had hubs machined from aluminum and Delrin to work in our design. Doug Ostlind from V&O Machine in Woodland did an excellent job machining the hubs, spockets and Colson's so all of the holes align with ease.
